Wednesday walk, on a Thursday morning!
Good morning / Afternoon / Evening Hivians, I quite enjoyed last week's Wednesday walk post, so it's time to do it again! I didn't have much of a walk yesterday, so made the most of the nice weather this morning and got a good 5 miles in!
Today I ventured a little more inland, and headed for the Hills! A 5-mile round trip, so earnt a few hours of peace from the pup when we got home! Today we went up past the Loch, said g'morning to the Geese and headed on our way up the hill!
This was my first time taking this path, and little did I know, I was about to encounter a TROLL!! That's right, We don't need to worry about tolls, but you best watch out for the TROLL under the bridge!
Can you spot the troll under the bridge? Make sure not to stomp too loudly as you walk over or you'll wake it up!!!
The pup was more scared of the mushrooms on the way onto the bridge than the troll hiding under it! Good to know he'll keep me safe from trolls unless they're a Fun Guy! (fungi, get it?)
We continued our trek past the old ruined cottage, a familiar site in Scotland as people got pushed from their lands out to the coasts, many of these old dwellings still remain, some as crofters huts, others with only one or two walls standing. This one had been reused by the locals as a picnic spot, complete with picnic benches, a great place to stop and have a (Safe) fire on an evening, not for today!
First view of old cottage | second view from back | through the old walls/gates onto the fields we go! |
Time for the dog to run around a little and stretch his legs, 5miles on the lead is a walk in the park for him, being a working dog. His brain needs more exercise than his feet!
A nice view over to the Scottish Capital, Edinburgh from up the Hill, focused on the forth road bridge and forth rail bridge, the "new" Queensferry crossing can be seen just in the background too!
Well, that wraps up my morning walk! Hope you all enjoyed the views with me, until next time, sloth out!
